SUBCISION FOR ACNE SCARRING

Face

What to expect after subcision

  • Immediately following the procedure, the most commonly reported temporary side effects are redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, bleeding, scabbing, tingling, numbness, lumpiness, and/or a feeling of pressure or fullness at the sites and/or in the treated area(s).

  • Apply ice and pressure throughout the first 24 hours. Ice application can be for 10 minutes at a time, 3-5 times throughout the first 24 hours. This will help minimize swelling and pain.

  • If you get a scab, Do Not pick the scab. Instead, keep areas moist with Vaseline to loosen scab and expedite healing.

  • If you have bleeding, apply firm pressure with gauze pad for 20 minutes. If it does not stop after 20 minutes repeat the process. If bleeding persists please contact our office at 407-866-1213. However it is normal to have some bleeding after procedure.
