LASER TREATMENT
COOL PEEL CO2
What to Expect
-
Redness and swelling for 2 days.
-
Mild stinging or burning sensation.
-
Itching, crusting and peeling over the next week.
-
Full results may take 3 - 6 months as collagen production and skin remodeling take time.
Day 1 - Treatment Day
-
Healing ointment will be applied before you leave the office. A mild stinging sensation is normal for the first few hours. Expect redness and swelling today, which may increase over the next 2–3 days.
-
Reapply Laser Balm or Healing Ointment every 3–4 hours to keep the treated areas moist. Do not allow the skin to dry out, as moisture promotes faster healing.
-
If you face feels warm, you can apply ice packs to help reduce the swelling and relieve the burning sensation.
-
Do not wash your face tonight, but be sure to apply healing ointment before bed.
Days 2 & 3
-
Gently cleanse with hypoallergenic soap. Avoid direct water pressure on the face.
-
Reapply laser balm or healing ointment immediately after washing.
-
Apply gentle moisturizer three times a day and apply laser balm or healing ointment over this.
Days 4 & 5
-
Apply moisturizer every 3-4 hours. Continue healing ointment at night.
-
Skin will feel like sandpaper for the next several days. Do not pick the areas.
Days 6 & 7
-
Peeling and flaking are normal – do not pick or scratch the areas.
-
Use OTC hydrocortisone cream if itching is severe.
-
Continue regular moisturizing and use healing ointment at night.
Important Reminders
-
Avoid sun exposure. Use a physical sunblock (SPF 45+ with zinc or titanium) once skin has healed (i.e. Elta MD UV Clear).
-
No makeup until skin is fully healed (usually 2 days).
-
Avoid strenuous exercise, hot tubs, and saunas for 5 days.
-
Final results may take 3 - 6 months as collagen continues to rebuild.
