Within 4-6 hours of application, wash off the treated areas with soap and water. Wash off sooner if any pain, burning or discomfort to site.
Blistering often occurs within 24 hours and may become painful. Use a cool compress and/or oral pain medication (acetaminophen) as needed to control and pain. DO NOT REMOVE THE BLISTER. If necessary, make a small hole in the blister with a sterile need (by cleaning needle or safety pin with rubbing alcohol) to let fluid out.
If you cover the blister with a bandaid, be sure to keep Vaseline over spots so it does not stick to the Band-Aid.
